What Size Xiser® Cable Assembly Do I Need?
With one simple measurement, you can usually determine which Xiser® cable assembly matches your machine and resistance cylinder type.
Most Xiser® cable assemblies fall into three standard sizes:
- Personal Trainer — 6" cable assembly
- Commercial Pro Trainer — 7" cable assembly
- Extra Capacity Pro Trainer — 8" cable assembly
If your machine is a current production model, compare your cable and cylinder setup to the image above before ordering a replacement cable assembly.
How to Identify Your Cylinder Type
You can also help determine the correct cable assembly by measuring the black cooling barrel of the resistance cylinder.
The cylinder type and cable length work together. These measurements help ensure the correct replacement parts are selected for your specific Xiser® stepper model.

How to Identify Your Xiser® Cylinder Size
Before Ordering a Replacement Cable Assembly
Before ordering, check the following:
- Identify whether your machine is a Personal Trainer, Pro Trainer, or Extra Capacity Pro Trainer.
- Compare your cable assembly to the size image above.
- Measure the black cooling barrel on the resistance cylinder.
- Inspect the existing cable routing before removing the old cable.
- Contact Xiser Customer Service if you are unsure which part you need.
If you are not sure which cable assembly fits your machine, please contact us before ordering. We would rather help you identify the correct part first than have you guess and receive the wrong component.
Before Replacing the Cable Assembly
Before beginning the repair, place your Xiser® stepper on a clean, flat, stable surface. Make sure the unit is not in use and that you have enough room to fold, unfold, inspect, and service the machine safely.
- Work on a flat, stable surface.
- Keep the stepper supported while working.
- Watch the video instructions before beginning the replacement.
- Inspect the cable path before removing the old cable.
- Do not force parts into position if the cable does not line up correctly.
What the Xiser® Cable Assembly Does
The cable assembly helps control the relationship between the pedals and the movement of the Xiser® stepper. A properly installed cable helps the machine operate smoothly and safely.
Over time, a cable may show signs of wear, especially on older machines or heavily used units. Replacing the cable assembly can help extend the life of your Xiser® stepper and keep it performing as intended.
