In 1977 Xiser Industries was conceived in the mind of Professor Juris Terauds, PhD, while a professor of biomechanics at the University of Alberta, Canada. The novelty was the invention of the stepping machine for anaerobic high intensity training (HIT), now known as the Xiser High Intensity Trainer™, 100% manufactured out of Fort Collins, Colorado.
Xiser Industries mission is to develop the optimum fitness training protocols based on the most current university research on aerobic and anaerobic workouts.
The credentials of the research team are impressive. Juris Terauds earned his Master’s of Science Degree at California State University, his PhD in Biomechanics at the University of Maryland and did post Doctoral work in Physiology and Nutrition at the University of Texas and the University of Alberta as a research Professor. Dr. John Cooper, of Indiana University, Dr. Miytsumasa Miyashita, of University of Tokyo, Dr. Stanley Plagenhoeff, of USA, Dr. Hans Gros, of the University of Stuttgart, Dr Anthony Bauer, of Lakehead University, Dr Iraklis Tsaroukas, of the University of Teseloniki, Dr Pierre Garvais, of the University of Alberta, Dr. David Smith, of the University of Calgary, Geoff Dyson and others. Combined, these scientists had over 176 years of expertise to draw on!!
In the first phase, when done, the conclusive research evidence was in favor of anaerobic training like high intensity training, high intensity interval training, sprint training, burst training, short bout training, maximum velocity training etc.
With the optimum training method established, the next step was to develop an anaerobic trainer. This led to the invention of the stepping machine with an interactive and variable resistance system, capable of instant response to the force and effort exerted by the athlete. After extensive prototype tests for biomechanical, anatomical and physiological considerations, the new arrival was further sculpted for its aesthetic beauty, “to please every eye”.
The result is an elegant workout companion that is biomechanically and physiologically correct for anaerobic high intensity training. A unique achievement without compromise !!!
The world debut of the Xiser High Intensity Trainer™ was made on the exhibit runway at the International Congress of Sports Sciences in Edmonton, Canada, to a standing ovation. In Europe the accolades were repeated at the International Symposium of Biomechanics in Sports, in Prague. It was a Formula 1 coming out.
The High Intensity Trainer™ went into production and users found dramatic improvements in their fitness. Then, on October 15, 2009, after training for two years while using the Xiser High Intensity Trainer™ only, Juris Terauds won the Olympic Gold medal in athletics at the Masters’ Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia, by winning the physically demanding javelin event.
What is very important to us is that we manufacture 100% of the Xiser High Intensity Trainer™ and all its components in the USA. Our pride reflects in the fact that our achievement is “the best anaerobic trainer” in the world. Proof, that superior craftsmanship is alive and well in the U.S.A. Perhaps it should be called “The All American Trainer”.
